Picks of the week

Hi there! :-)

I've been on a holiday for the past two weeks in Portugal, and soon I'll be doing a blogpost of the clothes and makeup I bought, although it was not a huge amount... But for now, I've found my pick of the week, and this week it is altually two picks, cause I couldn't choose between them...

The first one is the much talked about Rebecca Minkoff M.A.C. bag or clutch... I love the name, which stands for Morning After Clutch :-) There are A LOT of different colors and qualities to choose from, but my favorite one has got to be the classic black one, just because it is timeless and it goes with everything.. A really nice bag!

My next pick are these sneaker wedges from Marc by Marc Jacobs and I think they are absolutely stunning!! I really like them, especially in this jade green color. I found these on Shopbob.com, and they were not all that expensive - about $320. They are not really a very summery pick, but since I live in Denmark, I could use them right not, cause it not that warm yet, and I would pair them with black leggings and a jumper or skinny jeans and a tank or T-shirt.

Pink shorts and sunglasses

In the summertime I love wearing shorts, and I have a ton of them. Most of my shorts are fairly short, and therefore I was glad to see that H&M made a longer version of colored shorts this season, because the very short shorts are not something I will wear everywhere and to every occasion...

I bought these pink H&M shorts a couple weeks ago, they are cut above the knee and I love the color that makes them stand out. I use them paired with a black or white top and flats or wedges. The photo is not very good, sorry, I tucked them behind the hanger, but the waistline is just like a normal jeans-waistline...

H&M, € 25

These shorts are also new, and are some of the very short ones... My boyfriend gave them to me recently, and I think they are very cute and great for a summer vacation paired with a white tube top and flip flops

H&M, € 11

I recently bought this bag and sunglasses in Copenhagen, and I think they are both great for summer. The bag is small, but can easily fit a phone, keys and some lip glosses for a night out. The strap can be removed and it also included a longer strap to use as a cross body bag. The sunglasses are huge and add some Hollywood glam to a summer outfit :-)

Clutch, Bianco, € 18
Sunglasses, H&M, € 7

Zara clothing haul

When I went to Copenhagen last week, I went to Zara to check out some shirts. I ended up buying a few things, but no shirts.. Zara in Denmark is a lot more expensive than it is in Spain, and I used to live in Spain, where I shopped a lot in Zara, which makes it difficult for me to pay so much more for the products here in Denmark. But I love the styles and most often also the quality of the clothes and shoes in Zara.

This white top is great for summer, and I will use it tucked in to my black lace shorts paired with gold sandals for a shopping spree or tucked in to a black skirt paired with high heels for a night out

Zara, € 26

This jacket is edgy, but classic and stylish at the same time, I love the colors and the stud detailing. It is great for a casual dinner paired with black skinny jeans, a black top and high heels

Zara, € 60

This white jacket is very classic and timeless and reminds me of Chanel or Balenciaga. I think I will get a lot of use out of this one, although it is quite delicate...

Zara, € 70

These mint green skinny jeans are perfect for summer, I love the color and the lenght of the pants that is cut just above the angle. I will pair them with the white top and flats

Zara, € 26

Sephora and Topshop haul

I went to Copenhagen earlier this week, which is the only place in Denmark where we have a Sephora. I've been to Sephora many times when I'm travelling, but this was my first time in the Danish Sephora so I was quite exited to see how big a range of products they would have, since it's only a counter in the department store Illum. Fortunately, the Sephora section was fairly large, and they carried all the brands we can't buy anywhere else in Denmark.
I had already set my mind on two things, I would definitely check out at Sephora, but was not sure if I were to buy them both, since they are not the cheapest products, but I ended up coming home with both, and I'm sooo happy I did. It's the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette and the Make Up For Ever HD foundation.

I haven't tried the Naked 2 palette just yet, but I can't wait!! All of the shades look so lovely and I've seen so many people rave about this product, so I'm convinced it will be a favourite once I start using it. The palette includes a double-ended full size brush with a crease and shadow brush and it also included a sample size of the Urban Decay Lip junkie cools and plumps lipgloss.

The Make Up For Ever HD foundation is also one of those products I've heard people rave about for such a long time, and I was really exited to try it on. One of the Sephora sales persons helped me pick the right color, and I ended up with the color N130. I've only tried the full foundation once, and I'm really impressed! It gives a light to medium coverage I would say, but I'm used to using the Clinique Supermoisture foundation, which gives a very light coverage, so the HD foundation to me gives a slightly more polished look, without being too much. I think that this foundation could be my new favourite, and I'm so exited to try it again :-)

I bought one more thing at Sephora (although I could have used all of my money there, I'm sure!): A Sephora brand coconut creamy body wash. I've had this product before and I love the smell of it!

I also went to Topshop and Urban Outfitters, where I bought some lip products. This first one is a lipstick from Topshop, and I just love their lipsticks! They are a really good quality and at the same time very affordable. This one is in the color Rumour Has It.

I also bought a lip marker at Topshop, and I think it is meant to be a lip liner, but I use it all over my lips and finishes with a clear lip gloss, which I think gives a beautiful summer look. The color I got it in is an orangy-red color, and I think the name of it is Hot Shot.

In Urban Outfitters I only bought a Carmex lip balm, but I'm really happy with it since it smells nice of cherries, it adds shine to my lips and at the same time it moisturises AND it has SPF 15, which is always a good thing! And then it only cost about 4.71 euros.

These are the beauty and makeup products I bought in Copenhagen. Not too much, but there are definitely some future favourites in this photo :-)

Two high street summer outfits

All of the stores are stuffed with colorful, beautiful summer clothes at the moment, and it is easy to be tempted to buy a whole lot of stuff. I've looked through some of the high streets current collections and found two very affordable outfits, where the summery colors are used either as a base in the outfit or as playful accessories. I ended up with items from H&M and Mango, which are two of my favorite high street stores, where you can easily find some bargains that makes the summer fashion fit your budget and leaves room for an ice cream or two :-)

First outfit is a daytime outfit, where the key item is the colored jean shorts, which is a must have item this summer:

H&M white tank - H&M coral jeans shorts - H&M necklace with rope detailing - ASOS spike bracelet - H&M clutch with chain strap - H&M gold ballerinas (similar here)

The other outfit is an evening one, where the clothes itself is not very colorful and summery, but the accessories do the trick:

Mango layered back top - Mango crochet skirt - Mango long necklace lime - H&M clutch - Mango suede peep-toe heels

Favorite products - May!

I finally caved and bought the much talked about and very hyped hair product, which supposedly should be an almost miraculous hair oil that makes split ends heal and dull hair shine and come alive. The product I'm talking about is of course the Moroccanoil treatment oil, and as you can hear, I had very high expectations to this product when I purchased it in April.
Did it live up to those expectations then? Yes, it actually did! I've used it now in the entire month of May and some in April as well, and I probably used it every other day. Sometimes in damp hair after I've showered and other times in dry hair after I've dried and straightened it. It works well either way, and I feel like it really adds shine and makes my hair look healthy. I use it with the pump that comes with it, and use about two pumps of product, which I distribute in the lower part of my hair, about from my ears and down, but mostly at the ends. It is definitely an addictive product, and although it is not the cheapest hair oil on the market, the 100 ml will take you a long time to use up, as you only need a small amount of product every time you use it. Definitely a product I will re-purchase once I've used it up!

Some other products I've used a lot the passed month are (the picture is from April, when I purchased the products, which is why they look brand new):

Redken Extreme shampoo - my first Redken product, but not my last. This is a really good quality shampoo and it has a nice and luxurious smell I think, which reminds me of being at the hairdressers. This shampoo is made to take care of damaged hair, and I bought it because my hair needed some extra treatment after I had colored it, which I think the shampoo gave it. Only thing is that I didn't have the Redken Extreme conditioner, which I think would be most sufficiently to get the full effect.

Clinique Supermoisture foundation in the color 07 Cream - I've used this foundation for years now, but I never had this color before actually, usually I'm a 04 Ivory, but I thought that this color would suit me more when I get a tan, and fortunately for me the past couple of weeks have been very sunny here in Denmark, which have given me the tan I needed to fit this new color. I love this foundation because it has a light coverage, which makes it look very natural, but I covers small spots and gives a very polished look that is still natural, if that makes any sense :-) It has a little shimmer in it, which makes my skin look healthy and moist, but it is definitely a foundation that I would say requires a powder to set it.

Batiste Dry Shampoo - I've heard a lot of good things about this dry shampoo, but I was a little suspicious to use it after I've colored my hair back to my original brown color (I've had blond hair for a long time), because I was afraid the grey powder would be visible in my hair. That is not the case though, cause it is a very easy dry shampoo to distribute in the hair if you brush through your hair a couple of times with your fingers. Also it is a very affordable dry shampoo, and that is always a good thing, right? :-)

Paul Mitchell Smoothing Serum - I finally purchased the 150 ml version of this serum, until April I only had a small sample, which I had used up, so I already knew that I loved this product. And I still do. As the Moroccanoil, I feel it makes my hair look healthier, and I use this product about every other day; the opposite of the days where I use the Moroccanoil. The serum adds a lot of shine to my hair and as an extra bonus it has the most amazing smell!

Lace shorts and how I would wear them

I just bought these black lace shorts from H&M, they were also available in white, but I thought that even though the white shorts were cute and a little more spring and summer-like, they would probably become dirty the minute I put them on, so I decided to go with the black ones.

I also bought this cute turquoise necklace at H&M. I think that turquoise is going to be a really big color this summer, as well as mint green and yellow and pink and.... Basically it's time to rock the colors, and as I've been dressed in primarily black, navy, white and grey the entire winter, I need to adjust to all the colors slowly, but steadily :-) Therefore, the turquoise necklace was really an unexpected item for me to pick up, but I think it would look cute with these shorts and a white top. (I will put a picture of the necklace here asap).

I have thought about some other items that I think would look good with these shorts, and as you can see, I'm really into turquoise at the moment :-) I currently don't own any of the following items, but these are all types of clothes and accessories, I think would look good with these shorts:
By Malene Birger lurex top Find it here!
By Malene Birger silk shirt Find it here!
Michael Kors turquoise watch

I would also pair the shorts with a shirt in a bright color, such as pink, orange or mint green. For example this one from Zara: Bright orange shirt

Last but not least, I found this bracelet from ASOS, which also would be cute, maybe even paired with the watch :-) Turquoise Spike Bracelet
