Christmas goodies :)

Hi there!

First of all; I know it's been such a long time since I last uploaded a blog post, so sorry for that..
And MERRY CHRISTMAS!! :-)

In this blog, I want to show some of the beauty stuff I got for Christmas - if some of you have a review on some of it, I would love to see it, so write a comment if you do.

I didn't get A LOT of makeup and beauty stuff for Christmas, but I got some few things that I am quite exited for:

OPI nail polish in the color "Designer... De Better"
This nail polish is from OPI's The Muppets Collection, and I first saw it in one of Carly Christman's videos on YouTube and I immediately knew that I wanted to try it out, cause I LOVE this kind of golden-glittery-glam sort of nail polishes.
I actually have it on my nails right now, and I just looks so PRETTY and shiny :-) A really nice color, which would also be great for New Years Eve...

Victoria's Secret Lip Gloss
I havenøt tried this lip gloss yet, but I thought I would just show it, since it's a really pretty color. I already have another lip gloss from this same line in a color that is more red, and it looks really good on.

MUA Mosaic Bronzer in Shade 1
I'm really happy to finally being able to try this bronzer! I have only tried it one time so far, and it's really pigmented and looks good on my skin, so it's definately a product I will get a lot of use from. When I used it, I combined it with a blush, but I guess that when we reach summer, and my skin hopefully will be a little more tanned, it will look good to only use this bronzer to get a nice sunkissed look.

 Soap & Glory Lid Stuff
Yaay!! I have been looking forward to finally trying this product, since I've heard so many good things about it on YouTube. Soap & Glory is not available in Denmark, where I live, so my parents had been so kind and had bought this one for me in London.
The product contains of four eyeshadows: Vanilla, Pink T, Mudhoney and Aubersheen and I think I will get a lot of use out of these, because on a daily basis I would probably just use Vanilla and Pink T and then I can combine them with the other two shades if I'm going out in the evening.
I've one tried them once until now, and the color actually lasted all night (I used an eyeshadow primer underneath).
Definately an exiteing product for me, since I have green eyes and blond hair and quite pale skin in the wintertime, hence these colors fit me really nicely.
The color Vanilla reminds me of MAC's color "Blanc Type", which is actually my everyday eyeshadow that I've used for the past three months or so on an almost daily basis.

Rituals Whipped body cream in Organic Sweet Orange & Cedar
This cream was a gift from one of my best friends, and I actually hadn't seen this product before, but I had seen some scented candles by the same brand, which were really nice looking and also smelled really good, so I was kind of exited to see that Rituals also makes body creams. I don't know if it's a Danish brand or if it's a new brand on the market, but I have never really seen that many products from this brand at all.
The cream has a lovely scent to it, you really notice the orange scent and it smells very fresh. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm looking forward to it and I think the bottle that holds the cream has a nice look to it, sleek and nice.

 H&M Eyelashes set
I know that these aren't makeup, but I thought I would show them to you anyway. I got these lashes from one of my best friends, and they are crazy long, but at the same time really pretty. I like the last ones best, and they are so insane long that I'm looking forward to see how it looks when I have them on! Definately not the kind of eyelashes you would wear on a regular night out. At least I wouldn't.. But I think they would be really nice for New Years Eve or maybe a big Birthday party or something like that.
I have pretty long eyelashes myself, and I rarely wear fake eyelashes, but sometimes I do think it's fun to dress up and go all in with a pair of eyelashes, but I have never tried on anyone as long as these babies, so i just thought I would show them :-)

That's it for now, I hope you will all have a happy New Year's and I promise to write more blogs in 2012! :-)

Paraben Free Day Cremes!

Throughout the last month, I have been testing paraben free cremes, since I wanted to find out which ones are the best. If I can avoid to use cremes with parabens in it, I prefer that, because parabens are proven to be very unhealthy for your skin. Unfortunately a lot of products have parabens in them, and not just cremes, also makeup, deodorant, perfumes, etc, so I'm sure I use a lot of products with parabens in it, but when it comes to my face, I'm extra careful of what products I use. I also don't use very cheap makeup products, but when it comes down to it, there is probably just as many parabens in some of the more expensive products than in the really cheap ones - it is not always I check the ingredients list on my makeup products..

Okay, well, enough talk, I think it's time to get on with this review :)

I live in Denmark, and the first creme I tested I think is a Danish brand, so I'm actually not sure if it even sells outside of Denmark.. It is from a brand called Derma, and it is a paraben and perfume free creme, which is good, because it is not just parabens I try to avoid in my beauty products, but also perfume and alchohol are two ingredients I would like NOT to have in my cremes and deodorants!

The creme from Derma have a very thick consistency, and I'm really not used to that, so it felt a bit more like a body creme to me, but it was actually very easy to apply and it absorbed fast and did not feel to greasy on the skin. All in all it was a nice creme, and it was only about $19. I would definately buy this creme again!

The next creme I tested was this one from Nuxe called Crème Fraîche. It is a brand I had no earlier experiences with, so I didn't know what to expect from it, but I instantly thought it would be good, because it has a luxurious feel to it, I don't know why :) Maybe it's because it's more expensive, it is about $40. This creme is also a bit thick in the consistency, but it absorbs easy, and it just left my skin feeling really good. After I had been using this creme for a week, I could definately see a diference on my skin, like it just looked healthier and had a healthy glow to it. So I liked that! :) The only think I did not like about this creme is the smell. I guess it has no perfumes in it, because it just smells ecological, that is really the best word for it: it smells of the products that are in it. And that is of course a good thing, but it is not a nice smell though.. BUT I guess I could get used to the smell, and although this creme was more expensive, I would definately buy it again! It is worth the money.

The last creme I have been using this month is a creme I have been using for the longest time, and it's the Clinique Moisture Surge. Now this creme is probably the reason why I think all other cremes have a thick consistency, since this creme is obviously a gel creme, and I've used it for such a long time that I'm now used to this consistency. But it is really like a gel, very light in the consistency, but it makes it last longer I think. This creme is also in the expensive end, it costs about $50 (all these prices are of course the prices on the Danish market, so if you are in e.g the States, it might be cheaper). It is a good creme, but it is also expensive. I would chose it again though, because it has a nice smell and a light consistency, which makes it a good creme for summer. And it is just one of those cremes I always keep returning to.

The last creme I haven't actually tried yet, but I thought I would just mention it, since it is a cheaper creme without parabens. It is the Garnier Youthful Radiance. I start using this creme tomorrow, and I have already checked the consistency: it is quite light, not a gel creme, but a really light creme. It has a really fresh scent, but if you don't like a face creme with a scent, I don't think this would be the creme for you, because it is quite scented. I tried to apply a little bit on my hand just now, and it absorbed quickly and left my hand feeling soft. I'm exited to start using it on my face, and it feels like a good creme, but maybe with a bit too much scent to it. I think this creme is about $20, maybe even less.

Okay, this was quite a long and ramply review I feel, but I hope it was useful to some :)
Bye for now!

The look for less

This season I love Gucci's S/S collection with a lot of color blocking compared with gold belts. Normally, I'm not a big fan of color blocking in particular, but I just think that the gold belts ads a certain class and a lot of glamour to the look! SO, when I saw a red and pink dress in H&M I just had to buy it. It is not completely the same style as Gucci's dresses, but when I combine it with a shiny gold belt I have, I think it gets a simlilar vibe to it... :o)

I currently don't have a photo of me wearing the dress with my gold belt, but I will upload it as soon as I have one! But here you can see the dress (I think it looks much better with a belt though!):

H&M dress, about $48

Cute leopard nails

Yesterday I was inspired by a blogpost from That's Peachy to paint my nails in a leopard print. The look is actually quite easy to achieve, and I think it is a really cute look for summer..

I used a minty green base color, but of course you can use any color you like :)
I started out by painting my nails with the base color using three layers of color, and waited for it to dry. Then I used a shimmery gold color to apply the spots (and again you could use any golden/orange/brown color you'd like) and waited for it to dry. Then I simply took a liquid eyeliner to paint the thin black contouring streaks. And at last I used a top coat :) Voila!

The nail polishes I used were:
Base coat: a minty green color from Claire's (I can't see any name or number on it..)
Spots: Nail polished from H&M in the color Wawawoom
Top coat: Quick shine for nails from Chanel in the color 50 Naturel
